About HMP Home Inspections

HMP Home Inspectors understand that buying a home is a major, complex, and very personal decision. You must consider the price and the various appeals of neighbourhood, style, size, floor plan, etc. Our home inspections help you when the fundamental questions arise – "Is the house itself sound? What kinds of repairs may be required, and what can reasonably be anticipated in the way of costs?"

The decision to purchase, and in some cases the purchase price, may be affected by all these factors and HMP can give you the answers. Our professional home inspections are thorough and we encourage you to attend the inspection. It represents an excellent opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with the property's technical features. HMP home inspectors will provide an expert and unbiased assessment of the house itself - all you really need to know about all the things you're least apt to be familiar with. Let our Nationally certified HMP Home Inspectors help you understand your home purchase. Call us now for an immediate consultation.

My father had me in construction from the age of 13. Working the summers as a labourer. As I got older, my tasks took me to building and General Contracting. I had spent most of my working years self employed in the industry. I decided to become a Home Inspector in 2005. I then graduated from Carson Dunlop. 5 years ago I joined PHPIC and became an NHI. I have performed over 4000 building inspections. I am very happy to be a part of the PHPIC group and the journey we are taking towards licensing Home Inspectors.

In 1969, I apprenticed as a Mechanical Engineering Tech through City and Guilds, graduating with a Certificate of Engineering Craftsmanship. My focus was in the field of high volume precision turned parts. This career served me well for some 38 years, progressing from Machine Setup to Operations Manager of a large screw machine company. From 1997 to 2000, I was the Canadian District Chairman for the Precision Machined Products Association. Throughout my career, I continuously sought out new challenges outside of my scope. Design, drafting, and a passion for building led to a short construction career, terminated by back injury after two years. Becoming a Home Inspector was a logical next step. I have Certified Master Inspector designation through InterNachi, IAC2 for Mold and Radon and Level1 Thermographer Certification.
